Description

Kodak Master Darkroom Dataguide for Black & White Film Processing in English Language 3rd Edition, First 1968 Printing 28 Pages The KODAK Master Darkroom Dataguide is designed to bring together in one publication working information for the operations of processing, printing, enlarging, and copying-using KODAK black-and-white materials for still photography. It presents the basic information needed for determining developing times and other processing details, negative exposures in copying and other close-up photography, and printing exposures for different papers and various enlarger settings. It thus complements the KODAK Master Photoguide, which provides the data likely to be needed in camera operation, especially in general outdoor picture taking situations. The material in this Dataguide is grouped in three main sections. The first, on films, covers determination of exposures, particularly with regard to the correction factors that must be introduced for close-up focusing and for long exposure times. It also includes a computer for the determination of develop- ment times for various combinations of films and developers. The second section, on papers, covers selection of paper surface (with 11 sample prints which illustrate the majority of Kodak's paper surfaces) as well as selection of paper grade and determination of exposure in enlarging. More detailed information is given on KODAK POLYCONTRAST Papers and on KODAK PANALURE Paper. The third section, on chemicals, gives descriptions of KODAK Chemical Preparations, data on the keeping properties and useful capacities of process- ing solutions, certain test procedures, and weights and measures conversions. In the interest of ready reference, as well as because of space limitations, the material in the Dataguide is largely limited to basic descriptive and working data. For more complete background information, descriptions of working procedures, etc, you should consult the KODAK Data Books listed on page 28. Thank you!
