Description
REDUCED At first glance, the plate matches the bowl. But upon looking closer you see that the designs differ yet the color schemes match. Both are artist signed Darling with the bowl adding the year ’13 (1913). The bowl has a gold Greek key design along the inside rim, larger red Greek keys on the outside rim on another red that fades to a hot orange field that graduates back to white. Over this are gold grapes with black outlines. The plate has the same red to orange blush, but the design looks inspired by American Indian motifs. They certainly display well together as I’m sure the artist intended. The bowl measure 5-1/4 inches high and 8 inches in diameter. The plate is 8-5/8 inches in diameter. The porcelain blank is marked Favorite Bavaria and the plate is marked Thomas Sevres Bavaria, both nicely equivalent to porcelain from Limoges and Austria. The conditions are wonderful with no chips, cracks or loss of paint. Expect some light surface marks to the gold which is a mark of its antiquity….over 100 years old. The combined weight is 2 lbs. 6.1 oz, so shipping will be USPS Ground Advantage or Priority at the 4 lb. rate. Extra insurance at no extra charge. I accept PayPal and other Ebay payment options. Payment is expected within three days. I ship the next business day after receipt of payment. Sorry, I no longer ship internationally.
